Senior Electrical Engineer (Hardware)

Salary Range: $140,000 – $200,000 / year

WiBotic is a small team building the next generation of wireless chargers, operating at 6.78MHz, that will transform industrial automation and electrification.

This position will have a significant impact on our products and our company. You will work with other Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, and our Production Team to build and power the universe of automation!

Description:

  • Lead R&D of new 6.78MHz wireless charging systems
    • RF module designs
    • DC/DC, DC/AC designs
    • Custom HF magnetics
  • Define and perform electrical system verification testing and analysis
  • Drive product designs from prototype to production.
  • Create and contribute to development schedules
  • Support our products through their full life cycle from clean sheet design through initial bring-up/verification to field support, and production issues.
  • Own safety certification (CSA, UL, etc.) and EMC certification (FCC, etc.)
  • Operate effectively in a small team environment. Collaboration is key.
  • Communicate proactively with your team members about your priorities, challenges, and triumphs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product design experience
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (we use Altium).
  • Experience with electrical simulation software (e.g., PSpice, LTspice)
  • Proficient with a soldering iron (basic rework with SMT components)
  • Proven expertise in hands-on troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with wireless communications and antenna design
  • Proven track record of owning and releasing hardware

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years product design experience
  • Experience with high-frequency power magnetics design
  • Electromagnetics simulation experience (eg., HFSS, Maxwell, openEMS, FEMM, etc.)
  • Reliability and (H)ALT test plan development
  • Experience with thermal management and heat dissipation strategies
